You own your home.

You may be facing some challenges. Or you may want to sharpen your budgeting skills or learn more about home maintenance.

There is so much to know about owning a home—budgeting, repairs, insurance and more. There are also a number of common challenges facing many homeowners. For example, you may need costly modifications for a loved one with special needs. Your home may have hazardous lead paint. Or you may have trouble paying your mortgage.

Way Finders provides counseling and workshops and, in some cases, specialized funding to help homeowners keep, manage and modify their homes. Our services are free of charge or, as in the case of some educational workshops, may charge a nominal fee.

Education

Way Finders offers several workshops to homeowners that help guide them through budgets, maintenance, insurance and how to avoid predatory loans and other credit confusion. Opportunities for discounts on insurance and other benefits are available to those who complete a series of post-purchase workshops. Counseling

We provide free and confidential guidance to current homeowners through partner agencies in Hampden, Hampshire, Berkshire and Franklin counties. Our staff of counselors helps those facing possible mortgage defaults and foreclosures to access appropriate resources. If you are a homeowner at risk of losing your home through foreclosure, please contact us at 413-233-1622 during business hours.

Specialized Funding

There are several programs available to homeowners to help them modify their homes in order to meet the needs of elders, adults with disabilities and families with children who have disabilities, or to address lead-based paint hazard. If you are at risk of foreclosure, you may qualify for a federal assistance program that can adjust your mortgage payments and help you stay in your home.
